With 28 years of experience in education, Dr. von Biberstein (Dr. von B) has a passion for all things IB. In addition to coordinating the IB program at Centennial High School this year, she serves as an IB program evaluator and an IB workshop leader for the IB Americas. IB is close to her heart as she believes it is an inclusive approach to education that is academically rigorous, student-centered, and provides opportunities for global engagement, cultural awareness, and meaningful action.

Throughout her 28-year career, she performed a variety of roles within and across metro Atlanta area International Baccalaureate World Schools. She was with Marietta City Schools for 18 years and taught US History and IB Economics at Marietta High School, mentored new teachers in grades 5-12, and supported the implementation of middle level school improvement initiatives. She has been a part of the Fulton family for the past 8 years, coordinating IB and working as an assistant administrator at Ridgeview Middle School and Riverwood High School.

Dr. vonB got her BA in Economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earned her master’s in teaching at Stony Brook University, and earned her doctorate in education at the University of West Georgia. She is a native New Yorker and lives in Brookhaven, GA, with her husband, three college aged children, and a labradoodle. When she is not at school, you can find Dr. von B running a 5k, watching soccer, baking delicious cake, and spending time with her family.
